Warriors get back in the win column with a 70-40 win in Chattanooga

White County High School boys’ basketball team got back to their winning ways on Tuesday night. After winning their first two games, the Warriors lost to Warren County right before Thanksgiving. However, a week later they left no doubt about whether their offense was improved, as head coach Eric Mitchell had hoped it would be, this season.

The Warriors were on the road as they took on the 3-1 Chattanooga Chargers Tuesday night, and they got to work quickly. White County scored 16 points before the host team found the basket once, and at the end of the first quarter of play the Warriors held an 18-2 advantage.

The second quarter saw White County widen the gap as everything they threw up was finding its way through the net. The Warriors headed into halftime up 41-11. The Chargers actually outscored White County in the third quarter 17-12, but as the game headed into the final frame, the Warriors were still comfortably in front by a score of 53-28.

With the 25-point lead, the Warriors were able to go to their bench and get valuable game time for their depth players and added a few points to their lead before the final buzzer. In the end, White County left Chattanooga with a 70-42 win.

With the win, which avenged the 67-64 loss suffered last season, the Warriors improve to 3-1.
