The White County High School cross country teams faced off in their final regular season meet at the Baylor School, in Chattanooga, on Oct. 22. Despite the challenging course and stiff competition, and while none of the runners recorded personal records or season bests, they still ran well.
On the girls’ side, Kayce Wright led the team with a time of 23:02:15, followed by Hannah Rabchenia, who finished in 26:31:28. The remaining runners included Autumn Birdwell (30:53:15), Addy Cocke (27:52:48), Poppy Shank (36:46:00), Breanna Powell (32:18:24), Luci McKee (34:38:56), Natalie Wilson (33:39:56), Estee Willis (33:00:00), and Kassidy Hura (35:14:00). While the team did not secure any medals, their determination and resilience were evident throughout the race.
The boys’ team also faced a tough competition, with Mason LaLonde clocking in at 21:08:00, followed closely by Blake Cravens at 21:32:50. Other finishes included Jackson Burch (24:50:31), Hunter Rigsby (23:54:52), Soma Yamamoto (24:11:03), Tyler Hernandez (24:39:32), Lincoln Kugler (28:07:05), and Noel Revange (31:54:00). Similar to their female counterparts, no medals were won.
