On May 9, 2023, the White County High School Science Club traveled to Mammoth Cave National Park, in Kentucky, to tour the world's longest known cave system.
Scientific research has been going on at this national park for over 200 years and has led to significant discoveries in geology, hydrology, biology, archeology, and microbiology. These students, as well as some friends, were able to experience the historic tour and create memories that will last a lifetime.
"Our goal is to continuously provide students with opportunities to explore the scientific wonders of our world,” Wesley Martin, a sponsor of the club, said. “With the help of sponsors, members of our science department and our administration we were able to give these kids the chance to experience and learn about one of nature's wonders.”
The WCHS Science Club would like to thank its sponsors, chaperones, school board, and administration for helping make this trip possible.
