The White County High School soccer team moved to 4-1-1 on Tuesday night when they notched their second district win of the season. The Warriorettes went on the road to bring home a 2-0 victory over Watertown.
“We set the tone for the rest of the season after suffering our first loss to Cumberland County last week,” Warriorette head coach Madison Mason said that her team responded well to the adversity. “Having not played in a week due to weather, they were eager to get that loss in the rearview mirror and prove the type of team we are.”
The win, which ended Watertown’s quest for an undefeated season, showed the versality of the Warriorette soccer team. White County scored two goals in the first half, both off the foot of Kylee Morton, and then locked down on defense in the second half, helping rookie goalie Kady Brymer who is still getting starts for the injured Kylie Allen.
“We put the district on notice with our second district win,” Mason said, buckling down on her mission to reinvent the reputation of soccer in White County.
The Warriorettes will be back in action on Thursday, September 11, when they once again face a district opponent on the road as they travel to Upperman. White County will play at home all next week when they host first Smith County and then Dekalb County in their fifth district game of the season.
