Posted

For the seventh straight time, the meeting between the White County High School and DeKalb County High School softball teams ended in the Tigers’ favor. This time, the Warriorettes couldn’t get on the scoreboard.

DeKalb County scored three in the first, one in the third, and five in the fourth inning. After a scoreless fifth inning, the Tigers pushed another run across the plate to make the score 10-0 and invoke the mercy rule.

Not only couldn’t the Warriorettes get on the scoreboard but they also struggled to get on base. White County only managed two hits, one each by Abigail Schalk and Anna McCulley, across the six innings. Mabry Taylor took the loss in the circle, pitching another complete game. Taylor gave up 10 runs, eight of them earned, on 14 hits while walking eight and striking out four.
