On Sept. 9, the White County High School Warriorette soccer team delivered an electrifying performance, defeating Upperman with a score of 7-0 at home. From the opening whistle, the Warriorettes established their dominance on the field.

Head coach Madison Masan attributed their success to a clear focus and intensity during the game.

“We played with intensity and focused on what we wanted to achieve, which is attacking the goal and crashing hard. We proved we could do that last night,” Masan stated, reflecting on the team’s strategy and execution.

The scoring was a true team effort, with five different players contributing to the total. Miya League was the standout on offense, netting three goals to secure her hat trick. Her ability to find the back of the net demonstrated not only her individual talent but also the effectiveness of the team’s attacking strategy. Alongside League, Katie Blakeman, Kayce Wright, and Anna Jolliff all scored one goal each, while Kaydence Redmon rounded out the scoring with another crucial goal. This distribution of goals shows that the Warriorettes have been working to develop depth and versatility as an offensive unit.

The Warriorettes’ defense was equally impressive, stifling Upperman’s attempts to penetrate their backline. The team’s communication and positioning were on point, allowing them to maintain control of the game and minimize any threats from their opponents. Masan praised her players for their collective effort, noting that this win is a significant step toward their season goals.

With a significant lead heading late into the game, younger players were given plenty of opportunities to get on the field, showcasing the future of the Warriorettes’ program.

Masan expressed her excitement in seeing these players gain valuable experience in a competitive environment.

“I was glad to see younger players on the field near the end; it’s exciting to watch the younger players eager to get on the field,” she said.
