After opening the season with a loss at Overton County on August 7, the White County Middle School football team came out strong in week two of their 2025 season. The Warriors came out strong Thursday night and dominated the Algood Middle School team, earning a 34-0 win under the lights at Warrior Stadium.
“The boys are working had to get better, we didn’t play our best in the opening game, and it really bothered them,” Warrior head coach Aaron Brown said. “We had the best practices so far this year this past week and they learned how to put that on the field. We just have to keep getting better and we will be a tough out for anyone this season.”
On Thursday night, it was Tucker Pinion standing out on offense for White County. The Warrior ball carrier had 124 yards on the ground and another 23 yards receiving. Pinion found the endzone twice during the game scoring both a rushing and a receiving touchdown.
On defense it was Aiden Boyd and Eston Humphrey making a lot of noise for the Warriors. Boyd recorded two sacks along with four tackles – one of which was for a loss. Humphrey had another four tackles for the Warriors and added a pick-six to his stat line as he intercepted the Algood quarterback and returned it for the score.
The Warriors will play their first district game on Thursday when they travel to Putnam County to face Prescott in the first of three straight road games.
