White County High School Football Media Day

Posted

On July 11, White County Warriors hosted their annual Media Day. While this year’s senior athletes were posing for banner pictures and the football team was having their annual team photo made in the stands at Dee Harris Field, community members were invited to stop by and meet this year’s Warrior football team.

With Mountain Sno and bounce houses for the kids to play on and burgers served up by the Quarterback Club, there was a little something for everyone. It wasn’t quite the same crowd or buzz that will fill the stadium in just a few short weeks, but the start of Friday Night Lights is officially here, and Sparta is ready to come out strong in support of their Warriors.

Last season, White County hosted two home playoff games – something they have never done before. They advanced to the quarterfinals in the postseason after winning a second playoff game, another first in the history of the White County football team.

When the Warriors kick off, in August, they will be under the guidance of first-year head coach David Foster. Foster isn’t a new face in White County as he has been the Warriors’ defensive coordinator for the past two seasons.

With a new coach, armed with a sense of pride carrying over from last season, and with the formalities of the summer practices, media sessions, and photo taking out of the way, the White County Warriors are ready to hit the ground running when their season starts next month.
