White County jail passes recent state inspection with no deficiencies

Posted

Under the authority of T.C.A. 41-4-140, the Tennessee Corrections Institute is required to establish minimum standards for local jails, lockups, workhouses and detention facilities in the state and conduct an annual inspection of each facility. The White County Sheriff’s Office underwent its annual Tennessee Corrections Institute inspection of the Correctional Facility on June 13. 2024.

These inspections are designed to address any Physical Plant Issues, Training Deficiencies, Constitutional Obligations, Reporting Requirements, Accountability, Transparency, Health and Safety Concerns, and many more aspects of the Correctional Industry. These inspections are an integral part of the effort to ensure the expectation of operational excellence set forth by Sheriff Steve Page and Major Kevin Benton.

With that expectation in mind, the sheriff’s office is proud to announce that the White County Correctional Facility met or exceeded all of the requirements set forth by the Tennessee Corrections Institute and passed the initial inspection with no deficiencies.

This marks the fifth consecutive year resulting in No Deficiencies upon initial inspection. This achievement is no small feat and is the result of the hard work of all of the Correctional Deputies of the White County Sheriff’s Office, and this result reflects the dedication to service shared by Sheriff Steve Page, Jail Administrator Major Kevin Benton, and all of the White County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Staff.
