While the Warriorettes were scoreless in their first game of the season, that wasn’t the case on Monday night. The White County Middle School soccer team recorded their first win of the year with a 7-0 shutout over Sequatchie County.
The Warriorettes spread the ball around on offense as four different girls found the back of the net as White County played on the road. Ana Dronebarger scored a pair of goals as did Sami Benson and Johany Cordero. Piper Green rounded out the scoring for White County with a single goal of her own.
“That was a game that we needed to win to work out some kinks and build confidence going into our game against Algood,” Warriorette head coach Cameron Dronebarger said. “Now the question is, can we build upon that win, clean up the deficiencies, and put together a complete game on Friday.”
The Warriorettes will play their second of three straight road games on Friday, August 22, when they begin district play against Algood Middle School. The game is scheduled for a 5pm start with a Junior Varsity game to follow.
