$1.5 million in drugs seized in Spencer traffic stop

On July 2, 2021, Spencer Police Department conducted a routine traffic stop on a U-Haul truck that was traveling on State Route 111 South.

According to Spencer Police Chief Michael Brock, during the traffic stop, a K-9 deployment was made and a positive indication was observed. The box truck was found to reportedly contain 16 large cardboard boxes labeled for multiple destinations. According to Brock, these boxes were found to contain what is believed to be a high-grade marijuana, packaged in one-pound shrink-wrapped packages.

A total of 387 one-pound packages were recovered. Brock said the total value was approximately $1.5 million.
