One person is dead and another injured after a two-vehicle crash at approximately 4:18 p.m., on Oct. 23

According to a report from Tennessee Highway Patrol, Cory E. Nash, 18, of Tennessee, was driving a 2015 Chevy Camaro and was fleeing from Van Buren Sheriff’s Office, on State Route 111, near the 16-mile marker. The vehicle reportedly traveled from the northbound lane into the southbound lane causing a crash with a 2017 Ford Fusion, driven by 24-year-old Tristan George Carter, of Georgia.

The report states that Nash was airlifted to Erlanger Medical Center, in Chattanooga. Carter died at the scene.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.

Charges are pending for Nash.
