Carter charged in death of missing Putnam County juvenile

Putnam County Sheriff Sheriff Eddie Farris has stated in a press release that he is saddened to announce what is believed to be the body of the missing juvenile, Olivia Daryl Taylor, found in the early afternoon hours, on Oct. 27, 2022.

The body was reportedly located by Putnam County Road Department employees, in a wooded area east of Cookeville, in Putnam County.

Although, it is early in the initial stages of the investigation, Sheriff Farris said the investigation is being worked as a homicide.

Putnam County Sheriff’s Office investigators had worked throughout the night attempting to locate Taylor since she had been reported missing.

There has been one arrest in the investigation thus far. Charles “Chuck” Carter was arrested and charged with aggravated statutory rape in regard to the missing juvenile, Olivia Daryl Taylor, and is being held at the Putnam County Jail on a $50,000 bond. Now, Carter is also a suspect in the death investigation regarding Taylor.

According to the press release, the body will be sent for an autopsy to the medical examiner’s office, in Nashville.

No other information can be released at this time.
