Elyza Trivette, a spirited 7-year-old native of White County, has achieved a major milestone in her young rodeo career, earning a spot on the prestigious 2025 Pony Pro Team which is composed of some of the most promising young rodeo competitors across the country.
Elyza’s dedication and talent in rodeo events earned her a spot as one of only three Tennesseans on the 35-person team. The Pony Pro Team, as detailed on PerformancePony.com, is designed to promote young riders and provide them with opportunities to develop their skills and gain exposure in the competitive rodeo scene.
Elyza’s journey to this honor is marked by consistent success and determination. Over the past few years, she has qualified for the National Little Britches Rodeo in Guthrie, Oklahoma, for two consecutive years, showcasing her talent on a national level. She has also qualified twice for the Youth Worlds in Perry, Georgia. Her 2023 season was particularly impressive, earning her awards in the Saddle Club, where she finished 4th in 6 and under poles, 6th in 6 and under one barrel, and 6th in 6 and under three barrel events. In 2022, Elyza placed 7th in state for pole bending, figure 8 speed race, and three-barrel race in the 6 and under category.
Her accomplishments continued to grow in 2024, with Elyza earning Reserve Champion titles in flag racing and goat untying at the TriStar Little Britches Rodeo, along with third-place finishes in barrel racing and pole bending. She also found success at the Middle Tennessee Junior Rodeo Finals, placing third in barrels and poles, and at the Saddle Club Awards, where she took first in the 12 and under poles, western pleasure, figure 8 flags, and walk/trot, along with second in 12 and under three barrel and figure 8 competitions.
Elyza’s younger brother, Ralston, is also making waves in the rodeo world. Like his sister, Ralston has qualified twice for the National Little Britches Rodeo in Guthrie. In 2023, he earned a Reserve Champion in 6 and under poles at the state saddle club and received honorable mention in 12 and under western pleasure. His other results include a 9th place in one barrel, 5th in figure 8, and 7th in three barrel competitions. In 2024, Ralston placed 4th in flag racing and 5th in goat tying at the Tristar Little Britches Rodeo. His success extends to local rodeos as well, including a sixth-place finish in 6 and under barrel and poles at the Middle Tennessee Junior Rodeo in 2023. At the Saddle Club Awards, he earned first in 6 and under poles, three-barrel, western pleasure, figure 8 flags, and walk/trot, and second in figure 8 and one barrel. His achievements at the state saddle club included top finishes in pole bending, western pleasure, figure 8 speed race, and speed events.
The Trivette family, who own and operate Rawley Mae Farm, in Sparta, homeschool their children to allow them to live and work on their farm while traveling across the country. This unique educational approach enables Elyza and Ralston to learn traditional lessons from school while gaining invaluable life experiences working with livestock, participating in rodeos, and exploring different parts of the country. Their dedication to both education and rodeo exemplifies the values of hard work, perseverance, and family that define the family’s approach to life.
Elyza’s selection to the Pony Pro Team is a testament to her talent and the supportive environment fostered by her family. As she looks forward to the 2025 season, her future in rodeo looks bright, and her journey is only just beginning. Meanwhile, Ralston’s enthusiasm and success promise more exciting rodeo adventures for the young duo.
