On the final day of January, the White County High School JROTC conducted a challenging Cadet of the Month selection board in which Cadet Corporal Trever Walker won the honor for the first-year Cadet category, while Cadet First Lieutenant Morgaine Boyd won the honor for second-year Cadet.

This was not the first time either of these cadets had won this honor, with Boyd having won in September 2022 and Walker having won in October 2023.

“Cadet Walker continues to prove his worth in WCHS JROTC as he is a rising member of the Color Guard and now serves as a Team Leader in Alpha Company,” Lieutenant Colonel Aaron Johnson, who as a Senior Army Instructor heads up the White County JROTC program, said. “Additionally, Cadet Walker is on the WCHS Archery Team and competes regularly with them as well.”

As for Cadet Boyd, Johnson said she has earned numerous awards over the past two years and routinely participates in JROTC Color Guard presentations as well as competing with the JROTC Raider Team.

“Cadet Boyd was recently promoted and serves as the Platoon Leader in Alpha Company,” Johnson said. “The JROTC is very proud of both of these remarkable Cadets.
