Minute with the Mayor

A quick update on the Sparta Hardware building. The owner is awaiting confirmation to begin the demolition of the remaining structure.  The insurance company has had a structural engineer to look and is making recommendations for the demolition of the building.   The future of the site at this point is unknown.   

Update on the splash pad and playground.  The structures have been removed, and we are awaiting the plans that are being worked on by the engineers that were hired by the city to design.  Once the design is approved, we will release the plans to the public so we can “see” what the area will look like when completed.  Included will be a very nice playground, splash pad, amphitheater, and walking track area.  We have also included at least two pickleball courts on site.

The city is active in moving forward with many activities and walking trails and sidewalks for our community.  

I am excited for our citizens for some really neat things for our area.
