On Dec. 24, 2022, Sparta-White County Rescue Squad, at approximately 10:45 p.m., responded to a one-vehicle wreck on Highway 70 near the Highway 70 Market. Upon arrival, rescue squad members found that both patients needed extrication. All doors, center posts, and the roof were either removed or displaced, along with the dash being pushed up off of the patients' legs.

"Rescue would like to thank the sheriff's deputies, White County Emergency Services personnel, Cassville Volunteer Fire Department, and all of our members that responded in 16-degree weather to help remove these two from the car," Charlies Tollison, Sparta-White County Rescue Squad assistant chief, said. "Big thanks to the two air ambulance services that got the two to trauma centers, much faster than by ground. Everyone please be careful not only during the holidays but at all times while driving. Have a safe New Year."
