School bus garage for White County receives perfect score

Supervisor says transportation department is top notch

 The bus garage for White County Schools has received another perfect score, marking five straight years of flawless ratings.

Tennessee Department of Education conducted their annual inspection, on July 21. According to maintenance and transportation supervisor Randy Alley, the department inspects everything from gear shifts to light bulbs.

“A perfect score five years in a row is unheard of,”  Director of Schools Kurt Dronebarger said. “It speaks volumes about our staff. Their dedication to student safety is unmatched. We are proud  of their skills and professionalism.”

White County Bus Garage employs two full time mechanics. Robert Hawkins has maintained the county’s buses for seven years, and Eugene Pinkston will celebrate five years with the county, in January.

“Our entire team in the transportation department is top notch,” Alley said. “ They work well together, and it shows.”

The school system employs 36 full time bus drivers, with four substitute drivers. There are now open positions for school bus drivers, school bus driver substitutes, and school bus aide substitutes. For more information or to apply, visit https://whitecoschools.mysmarthire.com/jobs/
