Quilt Guild working to help community

Posted

The Southern Ladies Quilt Guild of White County has been doing charity work in the community for many years. This year, they are donating to “Sleep in Heavenly Peace.” This organization makes beds for children who need them. No child should sleep on the floor. They are also in need of new twin sheet sets.

The ladies are also donating baby quilts to Cookeville Pregnancy Clinic which also serves White County. They provide baby layettes to mothers in need.

Lastly, the ladies are making quilts for White County Red Cross. Families in a fire often leave with whatever they have on. Quilts are needed for an emergency.

The ladies come from White County and surrounding counties. The quilts they make are beautiful. Love and care go into every quilt. These ladies care about their community.

The group meets on the first Monday of every month, unless it’s a holiday. They meet at Central Church Christ, at 10 a.m. We welcome new members. We have beginners to ladies who have quilted for many years. Our meetings are fun, and we share not only our quilts but tips and tricks for quilting.

If you have any questions about the group or would like to donate, please contact Heidi Mathieu at mathieu6265@msn.com.
