Tennis teams battle Livingston Academy and Stone Memorial

Posted

The White County Boy’s and Girl’s tennis teams were in action on both 4/4 and 4/6.  The 4/4 matchup was against Livingston Academy at home and the 4/6 matchup was against Stone Memorial on the road. The teams are in the middle of their season and are showing great improvement this season.

The White County ladies had a strong showing against the ladies from Livingston Academy. Nia Powers pulled out a tough match against the number one seed from Livingston.  The team showed great depth as the Warriorettes were able to sweep the visitors 9-0, winning all six singles matches and all three doubles matches.

The White County boys’ team would not get much action on the court as the visitors only brought one male player.  White County one seed Gabriel Wiles cruised to an 8-0 victory.

Thursday the 6th saw the teams travel to Crossville to take on the Panthers and Lady Panthers.  The Lady Panthers have one of the stronger teams in the district and were able to sweep the Warriorettes.  Nia Powers and Kate Frasier were able to push the number one seeded doubles team and almost pulled out a victory.

The boys were victorious at Stone Memorial 4-0 bringing their district record to 3-1 on the season. One of the exciting things happening for the boys is the undefeated start to the season for Junior Noah Gately.  He is undefeated in both doubles and singles at this point in the season.
