Jimmy Doc Gibson, 59, of Monterey, Tennessee, died as the result of the shooting incident that occurred, on Saturday, at approximately 2:30 p.m., at a county-owned waste management facility, at 2730 Old Walton Rd.
On Feb. 20, 2021, Putnam County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Monterey Police Officers responded to a call concerning a shooting incident at the waste management facility. Putnam County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrived on the scene shortly after the shooting and began working the crime scene as a homicide. Tennessee Highway Patrol Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) is also assisting with the investigation.
A person of interest has been questioned regarding the shooting incident.
