The Warriorettes opened the tournament with a huge win over the Tennessee Heat on Tuesday night. Firing on all cylinders, the Warriorettes jumped out to a big 29-8 lead after the first quarter and kept piling on, ending the half with a 53-15 lead. The game saw 12 different Warriorettes score. Sophomore Gracie Clark led the team with 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 steals. Senior Celeste Reed had 12 points and 5 boards while Freshman Ashlyn Selby poured in 10 points of her own.

On Day 2 of the shootout, the Warriorettes took on Ensworth’s Lady Tigers out of Nashville. With the two wins, the Warriorettes secured their place in the championship game on Thursday, 12/21 against the Dragonettes of York. The Warriorettes fought hard but weren’t able to overcome York’s junior point guard, Reese Beaty who scored 41 of their 59 points and single-handedly led them to victory. Ava Jones scored 11 and secured 5 boards while Celeste Reed had 20 points and 9 rebounds but fouled out with 4 minutes and 32 seconds remaining in the contest. At that point the score was 36-48 in favor of York and they never let the lead diminish. The game ended with a final score of 47-59.

The Warriorettes travel to California next week to take part in the Fight 4 The Heights tournament in Los Angeles from December 27-30th. The Warriorettes are currently 13-1, ranked 11th in the state, and ranked 3rd in Division 3A.
