In an electrifying performance at home, on Aug. 30, 2024, the White County High School Warriors showcased their strength and skill, shutting out the Warren County Pioneers with a resounding 41-0 victory. The Warriors, ranked 74th in MaxPreps’ Tennessee football standings, demonstrated why they are a force to be reckoned with, as the Pioneers, currently at 222nd, struggled to find their footing throughout the game.
From the outset, White County set the tone, executing an impressive offensive strategy that saw them score three touchdowns on just three plays in the first quarter. Tripp Pinion was the standout player, rushing for 124 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries, including a remarkable 64-yard run that highlighted his explosive capability. He also showcased his passing prowess, completing 7 of 13 attempts for 151 yards and another three touchdowns.
The Warriors’ offensive power was complemented by solid performances from their receiving corps, with Gage Stephenson leading the way with two catches for 104 yards and two touchdowns. Darvon Richmond also made his mark, catching two passes for 27 yards and a touchdown.
On the defensive side, Hunter Broyles was a standout, recording six tackles, three of which were for a loss. Lex Winfree added to the pressure with an 11-yard sack, while Carter Rich contributed by recovering a fumble. Noah Skeith was reliable on special teams, converting 5 out of 6 extra point attempts.
“We played a pretty complete game,” head coach Curtis Beaty said. “We were able to dominate on both sides of the ball. I’m proud of our kids, coaches, managers, and everyone involved with this program.”
With this victory, White County improved their record to 2-0, while Warren County is now on an 11-game losing streak, dating back to last season, and sits at 0-2. As the season progresses, White County is proving to be a formidable contender, but the Warriors will be challenged this week as they hit the road for the first time this season, facing off against Cookeville, at 7 p.m., Sept. 6.
