A White County woman has been charged in the death of her mother after Sparta Police Department responded to a domestic call at approximately 5:30 p.m., Jan. 13, 2022, and found a deceased female at the residence.

According to District Attorney General Bryant Dunaway, Quonisha Webb has been charged with “aggravated assault causing death” after her mother, Emmaline Webb, was found dead at her 724 N. Edgewood Drive home.

Dunaway said the cause of death “was not immediately obvious.” However, he said there “doesn’t appear to be a gunshot or knife wound.”

Dunaway said investigators from his office, as well as Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, are handling the case.
