Every year, The Expositor gives White County residents a chance to recognize the businesses, organizations, and individuals that make our community a great place to live.
The Expositor’s Readers’ Choice awards have become an annual tradition, allowing readers to vote for their favorites in a variety of categories. From restaurants and retail stores to service businesses and other local favorites, the awards let White County residents recognize those who serve our community.
The voting process is designed to make it easy for readers to participate. Most votes are submitted digitally, allowing readers to make their selections electronically. Some readers prefer the traditional method and choose to bring a paper copy of the Readers’ Choice ballot into The Expositor office with their selections marked.
One important thing to understand about the process is that the electronic votes are not counted or calculated by The Expositor staff. The electronic voting results are handled by a third-party company. This provides an independent system for collecting and calculating the electronic votes.
The Expositor staff does not determine the winners or manipulate the results. Instead, the newspaper provides the opportunity for its readers to participate, while the electronic voting process and tabulation are handled independently.
Once the voting period has ended and the results have been compiled, The Expositor publishes the Readers’ Choice winners in a special section. It is an opportunity to recognize the businesses and organizations that readers believe deserve special recognition.
The Readers’ Choice awards are about more than simply naming winners. They are about recognizing the businesses and people who work hard throughout the year to serve the people of White County.
Whether a reader takes a few minutes to vote online or brings a paper ballot into the office, every vote represents a choice by someone in our community.
The Expositor is proud to continue this annual tradition and provide our readers with an opportunity to recognize the people and businesses that make White County a special place to call home.
