Bobby Dean Hutson, 89, passed away at his home, on Aug. 16, 2024.

He was born Dec. 26, 1934, in the Cole’s Chapel community, of Sparta/White County. Bobby married Jonelda Sparks Hutson, in 1954, and they enjoyed 70 years of being together.

Bobby graduated from White County High School. As a lover of music, Bobby attended Tennessee Technological University where he thrived as a drum major. He worked hard and was a wonderful self-starting entrepreneur, opening the Tasty Freeze and was a part owner in the Flower Shop with Don England. He was also employed by Volunteer Specialty (owned by his brother, Ralph), Thomas Industries, and Sparta Housing Authority, where he was currently serving as a board member. Bobby was a founding charter member of West Sparta church of Christ and was a deacon and song leader. He is most known for all the wonderful meals served and all the wonderful wedding cakes, desserts, and caterings of Hutson’s Catering of Sparta.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Finley Hutson and Millie Zula Hitchcock Hutson, and his five siblings, Ina Lucille, William Ralph, Rogers Carson, Myla Ruth, and Nellie Jane Hutson.

He is lovingly survived by his children, Marsha Dixon (Tim), of Clearwater, Florida; two sons, Bill Hutson, of Sparta, Rodney Hutson (Tara), of Murfreesboro; his seven very-loved grandchildren, Wendy Cox, Ashlee Anderson, Matt Greene, Will Hutson, Max Hutson, Alexis Hutson-Hamric; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral service was 2 p.m., Aug. 21, 2024, at West Sparta church of Christ, with burial in New Blue Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Matt Greene, Will Hutson, Max Hutson, Drake Anderson, Heith Hutson, Cole Hutson, Maddax Greene, and Maverick Greene.

Honorary pallbearers Bobby’s 14 nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the West Sparta church of Christ Stepping Stones or the White County Public Library.

The Hutson family would like to express a special thank you to his team of medical care providers with Hospice of Tennessee, friends and family, and members of West Sparta church of Christ.
