Cane Creek Boot Camp, an outdoor fitness class offered by Cookeville Leisure Services, is rebooting.
“It’s 2021 and time for a reboot – (re)Boot Camp, that is,” Jen Webb, special programs coordinator, said. “This three-month program will take you out of your comfort zone and push you to be your best.”
The class will take place Tuesdays and Thursdays, April 1-June 29, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Cane Creek Park, with participants utilizing the natural elements to incorporate body weight exercises, cardio and strength training. Webb and fellow Cane Creek Recreation Center staff members Cara Sheets and Sally Herren will be the instructors.
Registration is $119 for all three months or $45 for one month. An early bird special of $75 is available to participants registered by March 18.
“Our workouts are designed to push you harder than you would push yourself and to always keep your body guessing,” Webb said.
How is (re)Boot Camp different from other Cane Creek Recreation Center group fitness classes?
“The biggest difference is that it’s a three-month session,” Webb said. “Plus, we’re bringing back pre- and post-assessments to track progress, and we’ll spend most of our time at the park. Cane Creek Park is huge and beautiful and the perfect location for outdoor workouts.”
Participants will also get a 14-class bonus pass to use on fitness classes of their choice at Cane Creek Recreation Center. That way, they are getting a third workout each week during (re)Boot Camp. A (re)Boot Camp hoodie will be given upon completion.
Webb encourages anyone interested to make the commitment and join the comradery.
“Don’t be intimidated,” she said. “This is for everyone. Your health is worth it – and not just your physical health. Exercise and spending time outdoors are both great ways to reduce stress and anxiety, but when you combine the two, the results are incredible.”
