Sparta Youth Baseball and Softball All-Star Teams are selected

With the Sparta Youth Baseball and Softball regular seasons having come to an end, postseason play has begun in the form of All-Star tournaments.

 This year’s competitive All-Star teams include 6-8 years old Coaches Pitch Boys Baseball, 7-9 years old Coaches Pitch Girls Softball, 9-12 years old Live Arm Boys Baseball, and 10-13 years old Live Arm Girls Softball. Those receiving the honor will represent Sparta in All-Star tournaments hosted throughout the Upper Cumberland.

 Sparta hosted the Coaches Pitch Girls Softball All-Star tournament at the local county fields located on the Smithville Hwy. Sparta’s Coaches Pitch boys baseball team travels to McMinnville for their tournament games. The Live Arm All-Star boys baseball tournament games will be in Livingston, and the Live Arm All-Star girls softball team will compete in Jackson County.

 Teams have been practicing and working hard preparing for the tournaments. The kids are excited and there’s no doubt many from the community will be rooting for them as they represent Sparta. Jonathan Wilkerson, coach of the Live Arm Baseball team, said he’s “looking forward to the opportunity to compete and represent White County at the 12u tournament with these boys.”

 These All-Star tournaments serve as a great way to cap off a great youth league baseball/softball season. Congratulations to all the players who were selected to this year’s All-Star teams!
