The WCHS Warriorette basketball team recently picked up two more non-conference wins bringing their season record to a perfect 7-0.

Last Friday evening, the Warriorettes hosted Central Magnet out of Murfreesboro and won by a final score of 68-52. The Warriorettes started out hot and took a commanding 20-7 lead after the first quarter. The Lady Tigers clawed their way back a bit and cut the lead to ten heading into the half. However, once the second half began, it was all Warriorettes as they stretched the lead to 21 by the end of the third quarter and cruised the rest of the way for the dominating win.

The Warriorettes were led by Senior Celeste Reed who recorded her third double-double in only 6 games. Reed led all scorers with 18 points, shooting 8-11 from the floor and also hauled in 11 rebounds. Sophomore Gracie Clark had a big game scoring 14 points including 2-2 from beyond the arc. Clark also notched 5 boards and 3 steals on the night. Sophomore Bella Winningham had 11 points and Junior Ava Jones poured in 10 points to go with her 6 rebounds.

On Monday, the Warriorettes hosted neighboring Van Buren County and ran away with yet another one dominating the game from start to finish. The final score was 84-39. Thirteen different Warriorettes recorded buckets in the route. Celeste Reed once again led the team in points scored and rebounds with 13 and 7 respectively. Bella Winningham and Sophomore Lakelyn Gasty each scored 12. Gracie Clark had another good game showing her versatility with 6 points scored, 4 assists, and 7 steals in the game.

The Warriorettes look to add to their winning streak as they round out the week by traveling to take on Cannon County on 12/5 and Soddy Daisy on 12/8. Both games are set to tip off at 6:00 pm local time.
