WCMS Warriorettes win big against Station Camp

Posted

The White County Middle School Warriorettes hosted the Station Camp Lady Bison in regional basketball competition, on Jan. 31.  Marsha Jackson’s Warriorettes came out with much intensity on both the offensive and defensive ends of the court.  Their full court press was suffocating, and they were hot from the three-point line all night. They jumped out to a big lead early and led 19-6 after one quarter of play.

Ashlyn Selby dominated the paint during the second quarter, with a scrappy and hustling style of play. The lead was pushed to 36-14 at half.

The girls from Sparta came out of the locker room determined to not let their foot off the gas.  Their defense was stellar in the third quarter as they held Station Camp scoreless.

In the final period, Coach Jackson emptied the bench and everyone contributed, with most of them getting in the scoring column.

The final score was 57-19. Ashlyn Selby led the team in scoring with 19 points. With the win, the Warriorettes advance to play Dickson County, at 3:45 p.m., Feb. 3, T.W. Hunter Middle School, in Hendersonville.
