WCHS track team performs well at Cookeville meet

White County High School is blessed with many phenomenal athletes. Many of those athletes have joined the track team. The White County team joined six other teams in Cookeville, on March 21, for a meet and performed extremely well.  The Warriors and Warriorettes brought home awards in both the track and field events.

Girls' Results: (Places 4th or better listed)

100 Meter Dash – 1st Lexi Golden, 2nd  KB Frazier, 4th Gracie Clark

200 Meter Dash - 1st Lexi Golden, 4th Gracie Clark

400 Meter Dash – 3rd Josie Williams

800 Meter Run – 4th Kayce Wright

100 Meter Hurdles – 2nd Rylee Savage, 3rd Chloe Fletcher

300 Meter Hurdles – 1st Callieanna Griggs, 4th Rylee Savage

4x100 Relay – 1st Place (School Record 53.47)  Lexi Golden, KK McDonald, KB Frazier, Gracie Clark

4x200 Relay – 3rd Place

Long Jump – 4th Ashely Gibson

Discus -  4th  Abby Moore

Shot Put – 4th Karley Gentry

100 Meter Dash – 1st Maliki Dowell

200 Meter Dash – 2nd Demarious Dowell

800 Meter Run – 2nd Jedrick Mooneyham, 3rd Blake Cravens

1600 Meter Run – 3rd Jedrick Mooneyham

110 Meter Hurdles – 1st Kaleb Beardall

300 Meter Hurdles – 1st Isaiah Kelso

4x100 Meter Relay- 1st Maliki Dowell, Demarious Dowell, Asher Kelso and Nate Griffin

High Jump – 1st Japheth Richmond, 3rd Luke Sparkman

Long Jump – 1st Demarious Dowell, 3rd Keaun Lewis

Triple Jump- 1st Keaun Lewis

Shot Put- 1st Malaki Dowell

         A closer look at the above results shows that the Warriors dominated in the field events.  The Warrior boys won every event except discus.  Both boys and girls dominated in the sprints and performed well in the hurdles.  This is going to be a great season for White County track.
