The WCMS basketball season is in full swing with six teams currently competing including girls and boys 6th grade, junior varsity, and varsity teams. Both the varsity boys and girls opened the season up by hosting Pickett County on Tuesday, 10/17. The Warriorette girls began their season with a win while the Warrior boys fell a bit short. Since then, the Warriorettes have added 5 more wins to their record including impressive wins over Upperman and Algood. The Warriorettes are currently 6-1 on the young season. The Warriors have yet to find their groove but seem to be improving. At 2-6, they look to make some adjustments and get some revenge as this week they, and the Warriorettes, are scheduled to play Picket County, Upperman, and Warren County for a second time. Upperman comes to town on Thursday, 11/9 and Warren County on Friday, 11/10. Varsity tip off times are scheduled for 6:00 pm.
