Changes coming for Potter's Ace Hardware, new owners

Posted

(June 1, 2022) - Retail for Potter’s started as a small grocery store in Jamestown in 1946 and has grown into a network of 21 Ace Hardware and Home Center locations in Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky. Potter’s Ace provides competitive prices, quality products, and Helpful Service to homeowners, do-it yourselfers, and contractors to help customers fix it, build it, or maintain it.

As Potter’s prepares for the future, it has entered into a strategic partnership with a company from Dallas, Texas, who plans to bring together up to 150 Ace Hardware locations into one group of Ace Hardware retailers under the name Bolster Hardware, LLC. This move will allow the Potter’s locations to continue business as usual while implementing new technology and new Ace programs such as Ace Rewards and Instant Savings to provide added value for their customers. In addition, the plan will be to make considerable investment into improving the locations through remodels and renovations to help the Potter’s locations be the best in class when it comes to Ace Hardware and Home Center locations. The goal is to be the best place to work and the best place to shop.

Potter’s Ace appreciates all their valued customers and although this process will involve a change in ownership, the key employees, management, and the mission to offer service, value, and convenience in all the communities where Potter’s is located will remain the same.

As co-founder of Potter’s Ace Brandon Smith noted, “The name of our stores will remain the same and it is business as usual for our stores, our employees, and our customers. This is a strategic move for us that will allow us to continue to improve our stores and remain relevant in the Hardware and Home Improvement industry. We appreciate all our customers and look forward to continuing to serve them into the future.”
