Athlete of the Week: Jaxon Matthews

Jaxon Matthews is a young athlete whose dedication, discipline, and determination continue to make White County proud. Through years of training and competition, Matthews has developed his martial arts skills while demonstrating the commitment required to succeed at a high level.

As an athlete, Matthews understands that success comes from hard work, perseverance, and a willingness to learn.  Martial arts requires more than physical ability, after all. It demands focus, respect, and especially self-control. All attributes that Matthews possesses. These qualities have helped Matthews establish himself as a competitor capable of representing his community on the international stage. 

Behind every achievement is a commitment to training, the guidance of dedicated coaches, and the support of a family who encourages him along every step of the way. Matthews also appreciates the opportunities martial arts provides beyond competition, such as meeting other athletes and experiencing other cultures. Matthews journey serves as an example of what young athletes can accomplish when talent is conbined with dedication, humility, and a willingness to work hard.
